Continued disassembling again. I was able to remove the whole wire harness now and the rest of the electronics. I also removed the nerfbar and hielguards so I'll have some more space to remove the engine. Ofcourse I also had to remove the chain for this.
Frame is almost empty now. Only the radiator and engine left. But I'm stuck with lots of spare parts now. For now I just put them in boxes and hung up some of the bigger parts. I'll have to go and make something soon so I can store everything properly.
Meanwhile I also returned the white fenders and received the red side ones.
Seeing as I also have an idea already which batteries I will be using (CALB SE 70 Ah) I started making some paper models. This way I can easily see if and how they will fit in the frame as soon as the engine is out. Quite some work to fold and glue them all, pretty much like in kindergarten. But it'll be all worth it.

First thing I did today was remove the headlights and part of the wiring on the front. Just to be sure I labeled everything so I can easily see what everything's for later on.
I also removed the gas tank, silencers and part of the exhaust. This quad bike won't be needing these anymore.
And this is what it looks like right now.

While the quad bike looked very great I really had to start disassembling it to continue the project. So that's what I did. First I removed all fenders. It's quite some work as they're fixed to many points and attached to eachother as well. I removed the mudguards first.
Also had to detach the handle bar. Only after I done that I could remove the white fenders. These are all going back to the dealer since I got the red fenders for them.
Suddenly the quad bike looked pretty naked.
Also took a picture of the engine already. Definately looks nice but it really needs to get out of there for this project.

The quad bike is fully assembled now. All parts look to be complete, even though there were some small mistakes in the wiring, a weld that was in the way and a missing thread for a reflector but this was all easy to fix. Also measured everything for the future parts that will go into it. I'm really happy I chose for this quad bike, it looks amazing and is just perfect for this project.
I'm not going to ride it since I want to sell the engine and other parts as new but ofcourse I couldn't resist sitting on it for a while to feel what it's like. And it felt great, really looking forward to the day I can actually ride it.
With the purchase of this quad bike I also got bordeaux red fenders. The white ones will go back to the dealer once they're off. I just still have to receive red ones for the sides as well.

Today the project officially started! The quad bike (a JLA Loncin 250cc) arrived here today in a crate. It just still has to get assembled partly. It's actually not really needed since it'll be taken apart again for the project but I just want to check if all the parts are in there and they fit correctly. Ofcouse I immediately opened the crate to see what was under it.
First I had to remove all the metal around it before I could get the quad bike off. All the component parts were nicely packaged with it. It's standing like this now.
Will have to get some help later to get it off there. Can only start assembling after that.
